Brief Introduction
Thermally expandable microsphere, also known as foaming microsphere, is a kind of thermal expansion microcapsule with core-shell structure. Thermoplastic polymer shells encapsulate low boiling point solvents (liquid alkane gases or other compounds). The diameter is generally between 10~50μm. After heating, the volume can rapidly expand dozens of times, and the expansion volume will not shrink after cooling. As an ideal lightweight filler and physical foaming agent, microsphere is widely used in coating, printing, foaming, textile, construction, automobile, aerospace and other fields.

· Good Mechanical Properties
Microspheres have no openings, which avoids the defects of ordinary foaming agents such as uneven bubble distribution, easy rupture, and poor resilience. The complete spherical structure ensures good mechanical properties.
· Excellent Elasticity
Thermoplastic shell features excellent pressure resistance, withstanding up to 300 KG/cm². Its good resilience can withstand pressurization/depressurization without cracking.
· Excellent Foaming Performance
The volume expands 40-80 times after foaming; microsphere has an independent closed-cell structure, which remains completely closed after foaming, with uniform pore size and stable foaming performance.
· Environmental Protection
During the application process and after solidification, ordinary foaming agents may produce odors and volatile substances. In contrast, polymer microspheres are non-toxic and pollution-free, with safer performance. As an environmentally friendly blowing agent, it’s used in high-end products and high value-added products.
· Insulating Properties
Microspheres have good insulation and can be added to polyurethane, phenolic resin, coatings and other materials. Excellent thermal insulation effect, sound insulation, shock absorption, flame retardant and electrical insulation effect.
